My creative interests were given an early outlet with technical drawing; engineering design; model design and production; line drawing; and graphic art.
In 1983, I went on to pursue an IT engineering career at BT plc including ten years in various consultant manager positions. I was actively involved with numerous enterprise IT projects including email, remote access and system management solutions for many tens of thousands of BT staff. During this period, I also studied electronic engineering in London and gained formal registration as a professional engineer with the
Engineering Council. I also became a full member of the
Institution of Engineering and Technology.
Leaving BT in 1999, I continued my interest in design, finding demand for my web and IT experiences. Working as a freelance designer through my newly established company (
ionaca.com), I provided a blend of visual and technical design to numerous clients including lastminute.com, Simply Shopping TV, ZBank(Egg), The Met Office and BI (BMW Mini).
In 2002 I explored new directions for my company. By fusing my engineering, imaging, print and web experiences with my interest in fine art, this was achieved in the field of giclee limited edition printmaking. Specialising in aviation art, several award winning painters of The Guild of Aviation Artists now make use of my company services including Ronald Wong, Alex Hamilton and Chris French.
I then diversified into photography and video. My photography has featured in various publications including The Chartered Management Institute, Lockheed Martin/Marshall, Ashridge Management College and Goldhawk Associates. In conjunction with my degree studies, I also produced a promotional video for a local charity. For this project, I was selected by The University of Westminster to feature in an Apple Europe promotional film.
In 2007, I graduated from
The University of Westminster with a First Class Honours degree in Photography.
I work on location and at my studio in Hertfordshire. For more information, please
